About Anthony Wright

Retired United States Navy (USN) Commander Anthony Wright, a former resident of Maryland, has a diverse list of leadership experiences while with the US Navy and after. He spent three years leading more than 160 personnel and managing a $70 million flight budget as Commanding Officer (CEO) of a flight training squadron. In a very different role, but just as successfully, he was director of an administrative and mental health facility. He has led an aircraft maintenance group of over 180 men and women. More recently, he was a thought-leader as strategic planning lead for F/A-18E/F/G aircraft, and principal analyst in charge of an industry/academic group of over 200 individuals. These leadership roles granted Anthony Wright a solid understanding of both the military and national security sectors.

Mr. Wright, who served as principal analyst for Modern Technology Solutions, Inc., in Virginia, and senior group manager at Ausley Associates Inc., of Lexington Park, Maryland, plans on shifting his career from data science in the national security sphere to data science in the commercial sector. He maintains a professional interest in Agile software development, machine learning, and dev-ops, and is currently enrolled in the data science certificate program at Georgetown University. Earning this certificate will assist Mr. Wright with everything from writing code and analyzing data sets to data wrangling.

Alongside his practical experience, Mr. Wright already holds a master’s degree in national security and strategic studies from Naval War College, along with a master’s degree in organizational management from George Washington University. He also received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida before going on to earn his commission from the USN.
